Risk Assessments

Overview

The preparation of suitable and sufficient risk assessments for your work activities is a vital part of health & safety compliance, and assist in ensuring workplace risks are identified, evaluated & suitably controlled in accordance with Regulation 3 & 4 of the Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations.

This half-day course will introduce learners to the purpose & importance of risk assessments, as well as the various simple steps in producing a detailed, comprehensive risk assessment that is suitable & sufficient for the workplace.

The course can be delivered at your premises, or an alternative venue, for up to 16 learners.

On completion of the course, all candidates will understand:

  • What risk assessments are

  • The steps to be taken in the preparation of a risk assessment

  • Identification & evaluation of workplace risks

  • Risk assessment review process

  • What are risk assessments?

  • Health & safety law

  • Competent persons

  • Reasonable practicality

  • Steps in the risk assessment process

  • Reviewing risk assessments

Assessment

Assessment on the Risk Assessments training course will be via a practical risk assessment exercise, and a series of short open & multiple-choice written questions. The written assessment consists of straightforward questions, though learners will be required to have at least a basic knowledge of English.

Learners who complete the course & are deemed to have reached the required standard are issued with a certificate which is valid for three years.
