Machinery Risk Assessments (PUWER)
Overview
The Provision & Use of Work Equipment Regulations (PUWER) 1998 place a number of requirements on employers to ensure that fixed & mobile machinery in use on their premises are suitable for use, adequately guarded, and are subject to regular inspection & maintenance, thereby reducing the risk of injury to operators. Specific types of work equipment may also be covered by other regulations in addition to PUWER. For example, lifting equipment must meet the requirements of the Lifting Operations & Lifting Equipment Regulations (LOLER) 1998, pressurised equipment must comply with the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000, and personal protective equipment must meet the requirements of the Personal Protective Equipment at Work Regulations 2022.
Our consultants can complete inspections & risk assessments on your machinery to ensure that all aspects of PUWER are complied with, and risks to operators and bystanders are minimised as far as is reasonably practicable. For further information on more detailed inspections under the LOLER, Pressure Systems, or PPE Regulations, please contact us directly to discuss your specific needs.
