Ligature Awareness
Overview
This short course will be beneficial to those working with vulnerable adults or children and is a valuable addition to those who have already completed First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, or Safeguarding training. The course will provide an awareness of how opportunities to exploit ligatures can present a significant hazard to individuals at risk of self-harm or suicide.
The course will explore ligature risk assessments and how living spaces can be made as safe as reasonably practicable, how to recognise early indicators of mental health conditions, and safe methods for removing ligatures from an individual, as well as administering appropriate first aid.
As the course is closely related to a number of other disciplines, it is possible to deliver this alongside our training courses in First Aid, Mental Health First Aid, or Safeguarding.
The course can be delivered at your premises, or an alternative venue, for up to 12 learners (16 for Mental Health First Aid programmes).
