Good Nutrition
Overview
This half-day course is designed for anyone involved in food preparation & planning, and therefore would be particularly useful for staff in hospital or school kitchens, residential homes or community-based kitchens. For those considering careers in the food industry, this course provides a good understanding of nutritional values and well-balanced diets. The course will also be helpful to those who are active in sports and recreation, either children or adults, in respect of producing well-balanced diets to support their activity.
This a Level 2 award, regulated by Ofqual, which sits on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).
The course can be delivered at your premises, or an alternative venue, for up to 16 learners.
Goals

How to provide healthy diets & their impact on health.
Catering practices to maintain nutritional value of foods.
Features & impact of special diets, and associated catering considerations.

Assessment
Assessment will be carried out through completion of a written assessment paper, which the learner must pass in order to be awarded the qualification.
The qualification does not have an expiry date but refresher training & keeping up to date with policies, procedures & new legislation through ongoing CPD is vital.
