First Aid for Youth
Mental Health (Level 2)
Overview
This one-day course is aimed at anyone who actively connects with children, such as parents, teachers, youth group leaders & young adults. The qualification has been designed with children & young people in mind, covering a range of areas such as depression, self-harm, eating disorders & bullying. Learners will gain the knowledge & skills to identify a potential mental health condition, start a supportive conversation, and, where necessary, signpost towards professional support & guidance.
This is a Level 2 award, regulated by Ofqual, which sits on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF).
The course can be delivered at your premises, or an alternative venue, for up to 16 learners.
Goals
On completion of the course, all candidates will understand:

First aid action plan for mental health
Assessment
Assessment will be carried out through completion of a written assessment paper & a practical demonstration of the first aid action plan for mental health. Learners must successfully complete both parts of the assessment to be awarded the qualification.
Learners who complete the course, and are deemed to have reached the required standard, are issued with a certificate which is valid for three years.
