Display Screen Equipment

Overview

This half-day course is designed to raise learners’ awareness of the hazards associated with the use of display screen equipment workstations for extended periods of time, such as disorders of the back & upper limbs, eye problems & contributors to workplace stress. By the end of the course, learners will have the necessary skills & knowledge to confidently complete display screen equipment risk assessments & recommend appropriate corrective measures to reduce risks to users.

This course can be delivered at your premises, or an alternative venue, for up to 16 learners.

Goals

On completion of the course, all candidates will understand:

  • Display Screen Equipment Regulations 1992

  • Risks associated with inappropriately configured workstations

  • Ergonomics & control measures to reduce risk of injuries or health conditions

  • How to complete a DSE risk assessment.

  • Risks associated with use of DSE workstations

  • Common injuries & health issues

  • Ergonomic work equipment

  • DSE risk assessments

Assessment

Assessment of the Display Screen Equipment Course will be via a series of short open and multiple-choice written questions. The written assessment consists of straightforward questions though learners will be required to have at least a basic knowledge of English.

Learners who complete the course & are deemed to have reached the required standard are issued with a certificate which is valid for three years.
