Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH)
Overview
Hazardous substances in the workplace range from chemicals used in production, maintenance & cleaning, to harmful dusts, fumes & vapours, harmful biological agents & nanomaterials; each presenting unique profiles of health risks to employees. The Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH) 2002 require that risks from these substances are identified & controlled as far as reasonably practicable, that workplace exposures are minimised, and that health surveillance is provided for those at greater risk.
This half-day course is designed to raise learners’ awareness of the huge range of workplace substances encompassed by the COSHH and DSEAR regulations, where to find information on the risks presented & relevant workplace exposure limits, and practical steps to be taken to minimise their exposure to harm.
